Kitesurfing St. Lucia

You are looking for Caribbean kitesurfing? You just found an awesome spot. Steady Caribbean winds and flat water. It never gets crowded here. The wind season with plenty of super steady days starts around December and lasts typically until June and even later.

It can’t get much better. A hidden gem. Nicest and safest conditions. The Caribbean winds are known world wide by sailors for a long time. You are getting awesome kiting sessions in very steady winds without the hassle of dealing with huge gusts. And it’s nice and flat. Locals call it “the stadium”, a truly perfect flat water spot protected on the inside of a reef to master your tricks on any level. The horseshoe shaped beach makes the spot safe, you always end up at the beach. It never gets crowded. On a typical day you might get the entire bay for yourself or share your session with up to a handful of kiters max. We never experienced more than a dozen kiters at the same time out. Local kite schools offer lessons. It’s perfect for learning, not busy like most well known spots in this world. You can also rent or store your gear at the beach. There are 2 main kite areas in St. Lucia, this one here up north and in the south. The kitespots in the south are also nice, but have more choppy waters.

We are a short drive away from this fantastic kitesurfing spot in the north.

I’m the guesthouse owner and passionate about the sport. If we are on island during your stay (check first!) you can catch a daily kite shuttle to the north spot here on the Atlantic site. There is also a dirt road from the house straight to that beach which is rough, but walkable in about 30-40 minutes. The drive to the kite spot on the main roads takes less than 10 minutes. There is not much infrastructure near the kite beach. La Panache is perfectly located for kitesurfing the Atlantic side and exploring the vibrant Gros Islet village and it’s beaches on the Caribbean side. After a great day of kite sessions a nice plunge in the pool is just rounding it all up perfectly. As a bonus you will watch the sun dropping into the Caribbean Sea from there.
